Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not access your Google password.

Usage data: We track credit usage, clip history, and transcript history to provide the service and enforce plan limits.

Uploaded content: Videos and audio files you upload are processed on our servers and deleted after processing. We do not store your media files permanently.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Clypse service
  • Process video transcriptions and clip generation
  • Manage your account, subscription, and usage limits
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, plan changes)
  • Improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Clypse:

  • Google OAuth -- authentication only
  • Stripe -- payment processing (we never see your full card number)
  • OpenAI -- audio transcription (Whisper) and AI text processing
  • Anthropic -- AI clip suggestions and text analysis
  • Neon -- database hosting (PostgreSQL)
  • Modal -- serverless compute for video processing
  • Vercel -- web application hosting

4. Data Retention

Processed clips are stored temporarily (up to 30 days) for download and then automatically deleted.

Account data (email, usage history) is retained for the duration of your account.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session cookies). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication, and access controls. All payment processing is handled by Stripe and is PCI-DSS compliant.
